This is a highly visible leadership opportunity within a complex, global software organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role will lead the company's global revenue accounting function and oversee a global team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ASC 606, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven background within the software / SaaS industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and lead the global revenue recognition function in accordance with ASC 606 Oversee accounting for SaaS, subscription, perpetual licensing, royalties, and Enterprise License Agreements (ELAs) Review and approve complex customer contracts and non-standard revenue arrangements Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and documentation related to revenue recognition and contract structuring Ensure strong controls around deferred revenue, contract assets, accruals, reconciliations, and audit readiness Partner closely with Deal Desk, Sales, Commercial, Legal, FP&A, and Business Units on deal structuring and revenue implications Support strategic initiatives including the transition from perpetual licensing to subscription-based business models Advise leadership on accounting implications tied to new products, pricing models, acquisitions, and commercial strategies Collaborate on automation initiatives, AI-driven process improvements, and system enhancements Qualifications CPA highly preferred 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant leadership responsibility Deep expertise in ASC 606 / revenue recognition within a software or SaaS environment Experience leading global accounting teams and developing future leaders Strong background in technical accounting, contract management, and deal structuring Experience partnering with commercial organizations, Deal Desk, Sales, and Legal teams Prior Big Four or national public accounting experience preferred Exposure to M&A integration, business transformation, and automation initiatives highly desired Excellent communication, leadership, and business partnering skills
