Senior GL Accountant (Contractor) • San Mateo, CA (hybrid) - requires 2 days onsite per week This is a 6-month contract through our Staffing Partner, Yoh. The Sr Accountant will be a key member of the Finance & Accounting team, responsible for supporting the month-end closing process with a strong focus on operating accruals, cost allocations, Intangible assets accounting and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possesses a deep understanding of accounting principles. The candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams. Key Responsibilities Month-End / Quarter-End Close Lead and execute month-end and quarter-end close activities in accordance with established timelines. Maintain accurate accounting records for Intangible assets including software, licenses, patents, trademark, internally developed assets, and other capitalized intangible costs. Support impairment assessments and document assumptions and conclusions. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results through detailed account analysis. Own the end-to-end accrual process across assigned business functions. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with FP&A, Procurement, AP, and business teams. Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements. Provide accounting guidance to business partners where needed. Qualifications The candidate must be self-driven and have a strong understanding of accounting principles, must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance CPA Strongly preferred. Recent experience with SAP.
