This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and maintaining strong internal controls to ensure accuracy and performance visibility across the portfolio. In addition, this role serves as a shared functional lead for guest payment accounting, including daily reconciliation of credit card settlements and oversight of chargeback activity. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at assigned properties approximately two days per week. Key Responsibilities Property Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Own the property month-end and year-end close processes Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and reporting workflows Manage tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and recoveries Maintain accounting records in compliance with company, lender, and brand/lease requirements Balance Sheet & Controls Own the balance sheet accounts for assigned properties Prepare monthly reconciliations (cash, receivables, fixed assets, liabilities) Investigate and resolve reconciling items Support internal and external audits and maintain strong internal controls Budgeting & Analysis Support the annual budget process with expertise in property cost and revenue drivers Analyze variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods Support capital expenditure tracking and reporting Provide ad hoc analysis to support operational and financial decision-making Operational Accounting Support Reconcile daily guest payment activity, including credit card settlements Investigate and resolve discrepancies between PMS/POS and bank activity Partner with front desk and operations teams to manage and respond to chargebacks Help improve processes and documentation around payment reconciliation and dispute resolution Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3-7 years of relevant accounting experience (hospitality experience preferred) Strong experience with close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting Technical Skills Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains, Business Central, or similar) Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups) Strong understanding of GAAP Key Competencies Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Effective communicator with both finance and operations teams Preferred Hotel or mixed-use property experience Experience with lender/ownership reporting CPA (or progress toward)
