About the job Senior Staff Accountant Hybrid | Lenexa, Kansas A reputable and rapidly growing organization is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support daily accounting functions and play a critical role in the financial close cycle. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance standards, and collaborating with cross?functional teams to enhance accounting operations in a fast?moving environment. What You'll Do Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing journal entries and maintaining supporting documentation. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items. Review financial transactions for accuracy, proper classification, and adherence to internal policies and budgets. Contribute to the preparation of financial reporting packages and analyze variances for leadership review. Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other internal teams to address accounting matters and improve workflows. Support audit and tax-related activities by compiling documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to inquiries. Participate in research and application of accounting standards, escalating complex matters as needed. Help maintain and strengthen internal controls through documentation, testing, and process improvements. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, including system and reporting enhancements. Provide mentorship and review support for junior accounting team members when applicable. What We're Looking For Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices. Experience working with ERP systems, with Workday strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI for financial reporting, analysis, and data visualization. Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently. High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments. Self?motivated individual who can manage priorities and work both independently and in a team setting.

Experience & Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Preferred:
