Job Description
Senior Staff Accountant (CPA Required) Lally Group, PC, is a growing full‑service accounting and consulting firm committed to our team members and dedicated to being a trusted business advisor to our clients. We are seeking to add an experienced Senior Staff Accountant (CPA Required) to our Jackson / Lansing, MI team. The qualified candidate will provide high‑level assurance, accounting, tax, and consulting services to firm clients and support engagement execution, client relationships, and staff development.
Responsibilities include:
Assurance & Accounting Services Lead and perform audit, review, and compilation engagements for privately held companies, nonprofits, and municipalities Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP Perform complex account analysis and financial reviews Apply auditing and accounting standards appropriately Tax Services Prepare and review business and individual tax returns Assist with tax planning and client consulting engagements Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations Client Service & Collaboration Serve as a primary client contact on assigned engagements Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and engagement teams Collaborate with Managers and Partners on engagement planning and delivery Leadership & Firm Support Review work prepared by Staff Accountants and interns Provide mentoring and on‑the‑job guidance Identify engagement efficiencies and process improvements Contribute to firm culture and operational initiatives Overtime hours throughout tax season based on client deliverable demands and due dates should be expected.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting (required) Active CPA license (required) 2-6+ years of public accounting experience, including assurance engagements Strong knowledge ofGAAP, SOX
compliance, regulatory reporting / auditing standards, and tax regulations Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Experience with financial analysis Excellent skills in financial report writing Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsBenefits:
