Job Description

Senior Tax Accountant Distinct Recruitment - 4.5 Hollywood, FL Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $120,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Paid training Wellness program Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Life insurance Retirement plan Paid sick time Qualifications CPA Public accounting Research Accounting firm experience Full Job Description Senior Tax Accountant | Hollywood Hybrid with opportunity to be fully remote after 1 year Partner within 4 to 6 years Not because that's what's written on a career progression chart. Because one of the firm's current Partners is planning to retire, and the leadership team is already thinking about who could become part of the next generation of ownership. That doesn't mean they're looking for a future Partner today. It does mean they're looking for someone with the technical ability, ambition, and potential to eventually get there. This is a rare opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant who is already operating at a high level technically and wants to build towards something bigger than simply becoming a Manager. Why this opportunity is different Most Senior Tax Accountant positions focus on preparation. This role is designed to develop someone into a future leader of the firm. The Partners are looking for a highly technical tax professional who can become a go to resource within the team. Someone who enjoys solving complex tax issues, can work independently, and wants exposure to the bigger picture of running a successful CPA firm. You'll work directly with experienced Partners who are invested in developing the right person over the long term. As your experience grows, so will your responsibilities, client exposure, and influence within the firm. Who will do well here This isn't a role for someone who needs significant hand holding. The Partners need someone who already has a strong technical foundation and can confidently navigate complex tax matters. You'll be joining a team where technical ability is highly valued and where people are trusted to think independently. The ideal person is naturally curious, enjoys researching complex issues, and wants to become the person others turn to when they need answers. Why people stay The firm has built its reputation on long term relationships, both with clients and employees. The culture is professional without being corporate. There are no unnecessary layers of management, no office politics, and no rigid hierarchy. You'll work directly with the decision makers, have visibility into how the firm operates, and be given opportunities that are often reserved for Managers and Senior Managers at larger firms. Your contribution will be noticed. Your ideas will be heard. And your progression will be based on ability rather than simply time served. What they're looking for CPA required Strong public accounting tax experience Advanced technical tax knowledge well beyond a typical Senior level Extensive experience preparing complex 1040, 1120S, 1065, 1120, and 1041 returns Strong experience with trust and estate taxation Experience working with real estate clients and developers Strong tax research and problem solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Interest in mentoring and developing junior team members Ambition to progress into leadership and eventually Partnership There are plenty of Senior Tax Accountant roles where you'll prepare returns, hit deadlines, and do the same thing 5 years from now. This isn't one of them. This is an opportunity for a technically strong tax professional to build a long term future within a firm that is already planning for its next generation of leadership.
