Senior Tax Accountant (Part-Time Remote) Advisant Financial LLC Dallas-Fort Worth, TX Job Details Part-time $55,000 - $65,000 a year 22 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Work from home Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Operational analysis Teamwork Financial statement analysis Process improvement Partnership tax expertise Bachelor's degree Financial report interpretation Accounting Financial statement interpretation Process management Accounting Full Job Description Advisant Financial - Company Description Advisant Financial is an independent accounting firm specializing in individual and business entity income tax preparation, accounting, and strategic tax consulting. Our mission is to simplify the complex tax system for our clients, engineer tailor-made strategies, and maintain an unwavering commitment to precision and outstanding service. We value true partnership, technical excellence, and a collaborative environment where tax professionals can directly influence firm growth and build a meaningful long-term career.
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced US Tax Professional to serve as a genuine second-in-command (2iC) to the firm's principal. Your primary goal is to fully own end-to-end return preparation and eventually inherit client-facing advisory work. By offloading these critical operational functions, you will free the principal to focus on scaling the firm - creating a direct path for your own long-term professional advancement. As the firm grows, so does this role - with a clear path to expanded hours, compensation, and responsibility for the right person. This is a part-time remote position designed with flexibility at its core. We understand that the best tax professionals sometimes want meaningful, high-quality work without the demands of a full-time schedule. If you are an experienced practitioner looking for flexible part-time engagement that fits around your life - whether that means school pickups, family commitments, or simply a preference for balance - we want to hear from you. Expected hours are approximately 20 hours per week during the off-season, increasing up to 30 hours per week during tax season (January through April 15). Scheduling is flexible within those parameters - we care about output and quality, not when you log on.
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual salary: $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience and credential. 5 days paid time off annually. 5 paid US holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and one additional holiday of your choosing). Fully remote Flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation & Review:
Prepare and review entity and individual tax returns from start to finish, with a primary focus on 1065 Partnerships and 1120-S S-Corps.
Client Communication:
Manage client interactions professionally through written channels (TaxDome, email) and occasional video consultations.
Advisory & Strategy:
Assist in developing and executing proactive tax planning strategies for small-to-mid-size business owner clients. Step into strategic advisory engagements as your familiarity with our client base matures.
Firm Operations:
Maintain clean documentation, workpapers, and client records within TaxDome.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and flag complex technical issues, collaborating closely with the principal on high-level tax positions.
Process Optimization:
Contribute ideas and workflows to streamline firm operations as we continue our evolution from compliance-heavy work to high-value advisory services.
Required Qualifications:
Must be based in and authorized to work in the United States. Minimum 5 years of hands-on US tax experience. Advanced proficiency in 1065 and 1120-S return preparation, including shareholder basis, capital accounts, and K-1 schedules. Active CPA or EA credential. Strong financial statement analysis skills and proven ability to manage deadlines independently. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred:
Experience with Intuit ProConnect tax software. Familiarity with TaxDome practice management platform. Prior experience in a small-to-mid-size firm environment serving business owner clients. Background in tax planning and advisory work beyond compliance preparation.
Why Advisant:
Fully remote - work from anywhere in the US. Flexible scheduling built around your life, not the other way around. Direct access to the firm's principal - no bureaucracy, no layers. Meaningful technical work with real advisory exposure from day one. Competitive salary with room to grow. A firm that genuinely values work-life balance - we've lived the burnout and we don't replicate it.
