JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Serves as a key point of contact in the development, documentation and implementation of controls and processes. Create process narratives, flowcharts, risk/control mapping, and identification of design gaps. Assist with training new control/process owners regarding appropriate documentation and evidence of operating effectiveness for key SOX controls. Participate in walkthroughs of newly designed controls with internal and external audit teams. Requirements Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA certificate preferred 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience required, Public accounting experience is preferred Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Strong working knowledge of SOX compliance and remediation requirements Understands business processes, process and IT controls and their impact on financial reporting Must combine attention to detail with the ability to envision the big picture Must have a high degree of proficiency in organization, planning and project management Requires outstanding ethical standards consistent with company policies, procedures and practices, etc. Proven ability to function in a team environment and act as a technical resource and provide information and training to others Strong PC Skills for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications Excellent verbal skills, ability to apply group facilitation techniques and make group presentations Strong writing skills, including task documentation and report writing Proven ability to meet deadlines, including strong time management and organizational skills Ability to work and interact cross-functionally
Preferred:
Experience in utility industry or related business environment Demonstrated background in applying analytical/accounting research skills Experience with SAP and/or CUSI
