Our Client, La Familia Health in Santa Fe, NM, has retained our services to manage the recruitment of a Staff Accountant to join their team.   • $65,000 Position Overview La Familia Health is looking to hire a Staff Accountant assists in completing the accounting, grant, and compliance management activities of La Familia Medical Center and provides financial and grant-related information to management.
This position performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities, requiring the application of accounting principles and practices in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal, state, and local laws and regulations, applicable grant terms and conditions, other contractual obligations, and LFMC's Governing Board-approved financial policies. Responsibilities Process and reconcile daily cash receipts, prepare deposits, and post transactions to the general ledger. Support month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting. Maintain complete and accurate grant files and supporting documentation. Prepare grant invoices, financial reports, and monthly journal entries to recognize grant revenue. Ensure grant costs are accurately allocated and recorded in the MIP fund accounting system. Partner with the Development team to maintain grant tracking, reporting timelines, and invoicing schedules. Provide monthly grant reports to leadership and assist with procurement compliance. Support annual audit activities by preparing schedules, worksheets, and supporting documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Associate Degree in Finance or Accounting required Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred Minimum 2 year of job-related grant accounting experience required. Experience in Healthcare, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Governmental, or Non-Profit Accounting environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Maintains current knowledge of policies and requirements relating to the financial management of Federally Qualified Health Centers. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in continuing education or seminars related to job responsibilities. Maintains positive and accountable working relationships with all LFMC staff, vendors, and suppliers. Ability to prioritize work assignments and a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet established deadlines. Proficiency in using financial and business computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and MIP accounting software. Ability to analyze and interpret financial information. Attention to detail and accuracy and meticulous in the presentation of work products. Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Promotes an environment of teamwork in problem solving. LFMC required training including, but not limited to: Basic Annual Safety, HIPAA Training, CPR Physical Characteristics/Working Conditions Must have necessary manual dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, and speaking skills to perform required accounting duties. Normal office safety precautions and practices apply. Position may require travel or assignment to other clinic locations.

To operate motor vehicles on LFMC business, one must possess a valid New Mexico driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record. Position is generally scheduled Monday through Friday on site; evenings or weekends may be required during deadlines.
