Staff Accountant The HT Group - 3.9 Austin, TX Job Details $55,000 - $60,000 a year 5 hours ago Benefits Work from home Qualifications Accounting systems Financial close processing Spreadsheets Financial performance report preparation Closing the books Cross-functional collaboration Technical Proficiency Cross-functional communication Data analysis software Full Job Description The HT Group has a nonprofit client in Austin, TX, looking for a Staff Accountant who is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative to support month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization.

Hybrid In Office/Work From Home Responsibilities:
Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, and other key accounts Support month-end and year-end close processes through journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Review general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting Reconcile revenue and financial activity between accounting records and operational systems Partner with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to validate the completeness and accuracy of financial transactions Maintain fixed asset records and support depreciation tracking Assist with audit preparation by compiling schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as needed Document accounting procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation Provide cross-functional support and backup across accounting operations as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software proficiency Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams #MPIND
