Job Overview -
Staff Accountant Compensation:
$55,000 - $75,000/year + bonus
Location:
Camden County, NJ Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant in Camden County, NJ for our client, supporting general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities within a multi-entity real estate organization. This role will work closely with accounting leadership and operational teams to support financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and accounting operations across a high-performing division. The ideal candidate will bring strong general accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities as the
Staff Accountant:
General Ledger Accounting:
Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and support monthly accounting activities and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting:
Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, budgets, and supporting accounting reports.
Account Reconciliations:
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, review financial data, and resolve accounting discrepancies as needed.
Budget & Expense Analysis:
Support budget tracking, revenue and expense analysis, and reporting related to operational and financial performance.
Audit Support:
Assist with audit preparation, supporting documentation, and coordination with internal and external auditors.
Process Improvement:
Support accounting procedures, reporting enhancements, and financial system processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications for the
Staff Accountant:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Experience:
1-3 years of general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, property accounting, or bookkeeping experience is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting operations is required, while real estate experience is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, while experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar accounting software is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
