STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid) $55,000- $65,000 A well-established and growing nonprofit organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. The organization provides essential community-based services and is deeply committed to improving quality of life for the individuals they serve. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable, billing, and month-end close activities. This individual will collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all accounting processes.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Accounts Receivable & Billing Process and reconcile Medicaid and Medicare capitation payments. Manage patient pay processes, including coordination with government agencies and third-party representatives. Prepare and distribute monthly invoices for participant and private pay accounts. Track and follow up on outstanding documentation and receivables to minimize delinquencies. Manage Social Security Rep Payee applications, payments, and reconciliations. General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation for month-end close. Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and research variances or discrepancies. Assist with audits and provide general accounting support as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff and external contacts. Solid understanding of accounting principles and AR processes. EB-1600084469
