Job Description Summary The Staff Accountant Generalist position supports the Controller, President and GM performing a wide variety of small business-related accounting duties. This is hands-on work, involved with performing all facets of small office general accounting related duties. Emphasis is on employing sound General Accounting and control principles with hands on performing the day-to-day tasks and transactions that support the daily operations of a small niche manufacturer. We are a small closely held business, and you will work in a small office environment as part of a very small dynamic team, performing the many and sometimes routine tasks necessary to support a growing firm. This is a mid-level position, with some experience and education required and tailored for someone seeking to work in that small business environment. We are willing to train and mentor the right candidate in the unique needs of our Aerospace manufacturing industry if you have the desire, acumen, education for this position. This is a great opportunity to experience and manage hands-on core accounting functions and generalist duties. This is not primary a bookkeeping focus, journal entry position, nor any tax related focused position, this is not a CPA position, this position instead is a day to day small business generalist focus which touches on all various accounting department tasks necessary to run a small business The tasks are many and varied, your "to do" list is never ending, and the days go by fast. For example, one duty is the routine processing of Accounts Payable. From 3-way matching, invoice receipt, matching invoices, verifying and approval, determining when and who to pay. Working with the Receiving and Inspection departments, performing check runs, mailings and filing scanning. Other tasks include AR related tasks: the creation of customer invoices, managing Accounts Receivable, researching and issuing Credit memos, and related functions. Other tasks involve at time monthly and quarterly GL entries and adjustments, accruals, monitoring the WIP accuracy and cleanup. Preparing internal financial statements, making adjusting entries. Special projects such as being involved of the conversion of our accounting software conversion to Quick Books. There are other tasks include job costing and analysis, providing interim financials, bank statement reconciliations, performing Workers Comp auditing, Auditing or reconciling Insurance, investments or related financial projects and more. This position also works with HR and processes the biweekly payroll. Performs all talks, from timekeeping entry, auditing, uploading, payroll processing, etc. Another function involves performing monthly reconciliation of various bank accounts. The candidate will also assist with the implementation and setting up of new business software systems, such as Timekeeping systems, Quick Books Accounting software and eventually a new MRP system. The candidate must exhibit the ability to effectively communicate with peers and supervisors in English. Must be self-motivated, well versed in Excel, and MS Word and Office 365 tools. The Candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and to maintain confidentiality. They must pay attention to detail to avoid errors and be able to recognize errors when they occur. This is not a remote work environment. Qualifications:
High School Diploma Required. Desired:
College level Business or Accounting AA or BA degree Knowledge of accounting practices in a manufacturing environment highly desired. Must be able to sit at a desk all day, use computer equipment, as well as walk and be mobile to visit shop departments to resolve issues. Work Authorization:
