This role partners closely with operations and accounting leadership to analyze financial results, explain variances, identify cost drivers, and support business decisions. The position also contributes to budgeting, forecasting, audit support, ERP-related activities, inventory accounting, and continuous process improvement. This is a hybrid role based at our Pittsburgh office located at 1000 Cliff Mine Road, with three days per week in office and two days remote. Principal Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and related financial schedules. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with company accounting policies and IFRS. Analyze financial results, including month-to-date and year-to-date variances across multiple facilities. Partner with plant and operations management to explain financial performance, identify trends, analyze cost drivers, and support decision-making. Analyze manufacturing costs, investigate variances, and provide root cause analysis and recommendations. Prepare and deliver financial reporting, analysis, and insights for accounting, operations, and management teams. Communicate proactively with the Accounting Manager and/or Controller regarding financial results, risks, variances, and emerging issues. Partner with Operations to support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis, performance tracking, and improvements to forecast accuracy. Support internal control requirements and identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and procedures. Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and related analysis. Support ERP system activities, including master data maintenance, system implementations, upgrades, and related process improvements. Support periodic physical inventory counts, including pre-count planning, real-time support during counts, and post-count variance analysis and reconciliation. Oversee accounting for vendor and customer programs, including rebates, FAA, special events, contract maintenance in SAP, monthly accruals, reconciliations, and settlements. Lead or support complex project work, cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc financial analysis. Mentor and support the development of junior accounting team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Three or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, multi-site, or operational accounting environment. Strong general ledger, account reconciliation, journal entry, financial reporting, and period-end close experience. Experience analyzing financial results, cost drivers, and budget-to-actual or forecast-to-actual variances. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required. SAP experience preferred. Experience with IFRS, internal controls, audit support, inventory accounting, or manufacturing cost analysis preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with plant operations, accounting leadership, and cross-functional business partners. CPA designation preferred. Ability to travel up to 15%. #
