Remote (Baltimore, MD or Chicago, IL Area)
Compensation:
$80,000 - $90,000 A leading global law firm is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to support accounting operations in a sophisticated, international environment while collaborating closely with senior accounting leadership and cross-functional business teams. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office attendance required (approximately once per month). Candidates must reside within commuting distance of either Baltimore, MD or Chicago, IL. Responsibilities Prepare daily journal entries and maintain accurate financial records. Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy. Review and analyze monthly financial statements and provide commentary to senior accounting leadership. Assist with year-end financial statement audits and other audit requirements. Support accounting operations for international entities. Assist with daily treasury and cash management activities. Collaborate with Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Real Estate, and other business teams on firmwide initiatives. Participate in process improvement projects designed to increase efficiency and strengthen controls. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. Public accounting, Big 4, or law firm accounting experience strongly preferred. CPA license or active pursuit of CPA preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment.
