Archford Accounting, LLC At Archford Accounting, we are looking for a motivated tax accountant to join our team. As a tax accountant, you will play a vital role in initiating the tax preparation process, supporting the delivery of timely and high-quality tax services to a variety of clients. You will be part of a collaborative team that is committed to exceeding client expectations through accurate reporting, proactive planning, and continuous improvement.
The Role:
Archford Accounting is seeking a tax accountant to contribute to the preparation and review of individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns. This role supports the tax managers and senior tax accountants in delivering a high standard of service and will involve working with client financials, software systems, and tax planning strategies. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong foundation in tax compliance, attention to detail, and eagerness to grow in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation & Compliance Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and nonprofit organizations with complete and organized workpapers Assist in preparing extensions, tax projections, and quarterly estimated tax payments Analyze and understand business financials to support accurate and efficient tax return preparation Input, research, and correct transactions in QuickBooks Online; reconcile accounts, make adjusting journal entries, and run financial reports Client Support & Team Collaboration Support the tax team with project execution, client communication, and tax planning initiatives Research and help draft responses to notices from taxing authorities, presenting findings clearly and concisely Coordinate with the tax team and Archford wealth advisors to help implement tax-saving strategies and solutions Learning & Development Stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations through continuing education and professional development Gain proficiency in tax preparation software, workflow tools, and firm platforms Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve processes by offering ideas and helping implement firm best practices Firm Contribution Provide input on improving internal processes and policies for efficiency and client service Manage multiple assignments and deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred) 1-3 years of public accounting experience in tax preparation preferred Familiarity with QuickBooks, UltraTax, and Microsoft Office 365 Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment A passion for learning, problem-solving, and contributing to team success
