Job Description
Overview A unique opportunity for a flexible and dedicated professional to provide state and federal tax services to an entrepreneurial family with three (3) small businesses entities and their personal income tax returns. The position will include some bookkeeping services in the off-tax season of May to October. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of our tax needs and support bookkeeping and accounting departments in the off-tax season. The position reports directly to the three (3) owners. This is a full-time, hybrid position with expected in-office hours Monday through Friday from May to October and remote hours from November through April. Duties Prepare federal tax forms including Forms 1040, 1120-S, and 1065 including all associated forms, schedules and extensions Prepare entity and individual income tax forms for New York and California Process payroll for employees located in New York, California, Georgia, Virginia and Florida Coordinate cash flow across the entities with the accounting team Maintain and record a complete and systematic set of business transactions Perform monthly credit card and banking reconciliations Handle confidential information and communications Receive and sort accounting mail and coordinate and prepare outgoing packages Collaborate with other departments to support financial activities and resolve any discrepancies. Assist as a communication liaison in relation to the accounting department Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Assist with any additional general administration tasks Skills Advanced MS Office® Skills Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines, scanners, printers) Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Requirements Advanced MS Office® Skills Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines, scanners, printers) Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Pay:
