Payroll Tax Accountant Salary:
$85-110k

Payroll Tax Accountant Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual returns (941, 940, W-2s, state filings)
  • Reconcile payroll tax accounts and ensure accurate liability reporting
  • Handle payroll tax notices and agency correspondence
  • Support audits and resolve discrepancies with tax authorities
  • Maintain tax setup within payroll systems for compliance
  • Assist with year-end processing and tax reporting
  • Partner with HR and Accounting on payroll-related reporting and controls
  • Participate in system upgrades and process improvement projects
Payroll Tax Accountant Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of payroll tax or payroll accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Experience with ADP, Workday, UKG, Paychex, or similar systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • CPP or FPC preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills #
