Job DescriptionJob Description Senior Accountant We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Temporary Senior Accountant to support a busy accounting and finance team. This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, managing complex reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting activities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, excellent analytical skills, and exposure to insurance industry accounting and reporting practices. Key Responsibilities Compile and analyze financial data from multiple sources and prepare general ledger entries Validate, reconcile, and import accounting information accurately Monitor bank account balances and support daily cash management activities Reconcile monthly insurance policy and claim activity and prepare required industry reporting Assist with reporting to fronting companies to ensure compliance requirements are met Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation Support quarterly and annual audited financial and statutory reporting processes Prepare workpapers, schedules, and financial statement footnotes Ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory/NAIC reporting requirements Analyze accounting records and financial reports to verify accuracy and compliance Work collaboratively with internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience may be considered 5+ years of accounting experience required Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with GAAP reporting required; exposure to statutory/NAIC reporting preferred Insurance industry accounting experience is highly desirable Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team setting Schedule & Assignment Details Temporary assignment Full-time hours Professional office environment Competitive hourly compensation based on experience Company DescriptionYour Complete Satisfaction is Our Number One Goal Since 1978, we have specialized in supplying temporary and direct hire staffing to Rhode Island corporations of all types - including banks, hospitals, manufacturing firms, colleges, professional and legal firms, and governmental agencies.
