Job Description
Description We are looking for a Property Accountant in Greenville, South Carolina. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage core property accounting tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and work closely with property management teams in an onsite environment. The role will focus on month-end activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and day-to-day accounting support using Yardi software.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with approximately 12 to 15 property managers to provide accounting support and resolve system-related issues affecting daily operations.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial reporting.
- Support month-end close by reviewing transactions, recording accruals, and finalizing general ledger activity.
- Perform allocations across properties or cost centers in alignment with accounting guidelines and reporting needs.
- Maintain property accounting records within Yardi and assist users with correcting data entry or system processing errors.
- Contribute to payroll-related accounting tasks when needed to support broader finance operations Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to property accounting preferred.
- Working knowledge of property accounting principles, including accrual accounting and general ledger maintenance.
- Hands-on experience using Yardi software in an accounting environment.
- Ability to manage month-end close responsibilities with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines.
- Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries for multiple accounts or entities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support property managers with accounting and system-related questions.
