Job DescriptionJob Description Local CPA firm is seeking a professional and driven candidate for a Staff Accountant role. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the desire to learn and grow professionally.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, trusts, and individuals as well as monthly and quarterly tax returns for sales payroll, and other taxes Assist clients with various accounting services, including tax planning and related business consulting, and by answering accounting and financial questions after researching and interpreting data Work with government agencies in response to notices Maintain and update accounting records and files Conduct month-end and year-end closures Prepare financial statements Assist senior level staff in the performance of compilation and review engagements Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Skills & Qualifications:
2-5 years of public accounting experience Bachelor's degree in accounting CPA license preferred, but not required Fundamental knowledge of GAAP Knowledge of accounting software including Quickbooks Experience with Prosystem Fx Tax Software is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong organizational and time management skills Professional comunication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated Attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
