In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of accounting software and financial systems, including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and others. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and passionate about delivering precise financial insights that drive informed decision-making. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with GAAP standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation and audit support. Assist with payroll management tasks using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance. Perform data entry tasks with high precision using 10-key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Collaborate on internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist in audits related to governmental accounting or nonprofit accounting as needed. Utilize various financial software platforms like Workday, QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, Sage, or similar tools for efficient financial management. Support tax-related activities by preparing documentation for tax filings and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations. Contribute to budgeting processes through account analysis and financial data review to support strategic planning initiatives. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms is essential. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable. Prior exposure to public accounting or working within a nonprofit organization is a plus. Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, balance sheet analysis, and general ledger management. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience supporting internal controls audits is advantageous. Strong mathematical skills combined with excellent attention to detail; capable of performing complex data entry accurately.
