Compensation:

Our client is seeking a Site Accountant to support plant operations, oversee accounting functions, and partner closely with factory leadership to drive operational and financial excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and making a direct impact on business performance.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with plant leadership to support daily operations and ensure strong financial controls are in place.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and supplies through cycle count oversight and inventory analysis.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, track performance against budget, and provide monthly financial updates to management.
  • Develop and maintain reporting for factory expenses, providing visibility into operational costs and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee factory payables and ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Process customer invoices and maintain accurate sales documentation aligned with shipment records.
  • Record capital asset transactions and maintain accurate fixed asset schedules.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to maintain accurate bills of material and product routings.
  • Review employee timecards, assist with onboarding paperwork, and support payroll processing activities.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax, personal property tax, and other required filings.
  • Coordinate LTL shipments and assist with daily shipping processes as needed.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and help streamline accounting and operational workflows.
Requirements:
  • Full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience with strong knowledge of AP, AR, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole accounting professional at the plant location.
  • ERP system experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost controls, and operational accounting processes.
  • Experience with fixed assets, budgeting, reconciliations, and tax filings.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a hands-on environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate with plant operations leadership.

  • Works closely with the Factory Manager to support plant operations.
  • Sole accounting professional at the Walterboro facility.
  • Manufacturing and distribution environment with approximately 115 employees across multiple locations.
  • Immediate opening with training provided by Accounting and Plant Leadership.
