Senior Accountant SHR Talent - 5.0 Brentwood, TN Job Details 4 days ago Qualifications Spreadsheets Bachelor's degree in accounting Excel data analysis Full Job Description SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Brentwood, TN in its search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing and entering journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with month end close functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). To be successful in this role as the Senior Accountant, you should possess an aptitude for understanding, interpreting, and analyzing financial related data, a commitment to continual job-related learning, including company systems, and strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex data to others outside of the accounting department. An ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role will have the ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior team members, the ability to maintain organization while prioritizing responsibilities and workflows, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Responsibilities:
Assist with month end close process Record accruals, intercompany activity, expense allocations, and month-end true-ups Perform variance analysis in support of the month-end close process Communicate with departments, ensuring accurate recording of revenues and expenses Develop and prepare routine and ad-hoc reports as directed Assists with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, invoicing, and cash management as directed Provide support, as needed, with additional accounting activities Maintain registered agent filings, state registrations, business licenses, and other related filings Attend and participate in job related classes and webinars Adhere to all company policies and procedures including safety standards Perform other job-related functions as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, preferred 3+ years accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting Payment processing or SaaS industry experience, a plus Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with PowerPoint #IND123
