Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a self motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing payrolls, and tax return preparation. This position offers an opportunity for an accounting graduate to be part of a small public accounting firm. We are a very valued advisor to our clients Duties Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify account balances align with supporting documentation Prepare year-end entries for tax reporting Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Accounting CS , and others to record financial data accurately Perform data entry tasks with using double-entry bookkeeping methods Prepare payrolls and payroll reports Prepare individual income tax returns and various state and federal tax returns Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting recommended Experience- Helpful but not required Experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments demonstrating strong technical accounting skills Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Accounting CS, UltraTax or similar platforms would be helpful Understanding of payroll preparation and report filing requirements Some experience with income tax preparation for individuals Excellent math skills combined with the ability to perform account analysis and reconcile accounts accurately Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This role is ideal for a dedicated accounting professional eager to grow within a firm that values precision, integrity, and continuous improvement.
