Hiring for an Accountant II - Accounts Receivable weekly pay + flexible schedule + overtime (5 hours a week) + benefits
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree 3+ years of accounting experience specifically with reconciliations GAAP knowledge Excel-must be comfortable with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF/SUM and Formulas Job Description This Accountant II - Accounts Receivable role supports the Accounts Receivable team by performing detailed general ledger reconciliations, balancing cash and receivable accounts, and contributing to month-end close activities. The position focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while identifying opportunities to improve processes. Responsibilities Perform general ledger and account reconciliations, including researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner. Support month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with related financial reporting tasks. Analyze accounting data to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. Assist with cash application activities and maintain accounts receivable records, ensuring that transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to support the financial statement close process. Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate variances between bank statements and the general ledger. Apply knowledge of GAAP and core accounting fundamentals to ensure that accounting entries and reconciliations comply with relevant standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain supporting documentation, clarify transaction details, and resolve accounting issues. Use Excel, including pivot tables and intermediate to advanced functions, to analyze data, prepare schedules, and support reporting. Identify process improvement opportunities within accounts receivable and general accounting activities and support related special projects. Support audit-related requests by providing reconciliations, schedules, and documentation as needed. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all reconciliations, journal entries, and reports. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 2+ years of accounting experience, with accounts receivable or general accounting experience preferred. Strong experience with account reconciliation and general ledger accounting. Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries. Month-end close experience, including supporting financial reporting activities. Knowledge of GAAP principles and core accounting fundamentals. Proficiency in accounts receivable operations and cash application processes. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial work. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with financial reporting and balance sheet preparation or support. Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation tools. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Experience supporting audits by preparing reconciliations and documentation. Demonstrated process improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and help implement more efficient accounting procedures. Ability to adapt to new processes, projects, and systems in a dynamic environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
