Accountant/Bookkeeper Hunter Development Company - 4.0 Knoxville, TN Job Details Part-time From $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications GAAP QuickBooks Typing Budgeting Property management Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our property management team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial records. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by maintaining precise bookkeeping practices, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization that values integrity, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving. Responsibilities Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions for multiple commercial shopping centers. Reconcile accounts such as the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to maintain balanced books. Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure compliance with relevant standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Manage payroll processing using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring timely and accurate payroll management. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including governmental accounting requirements for non-profit or public sector organizations. Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Support internal controls and audit processes by maintaining meticulous records and documentation. Skills Experience with commercial property management and property management software such as Appfolio. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or equivalent systems. Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience with SOX compliance is highly desirable. Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is beneficial. Ability to perform account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis efficiently. Strong mathematical skills combined with sound financial acumen for budgeting and credit analysis tasks. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit activities.
