Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our Absolute Waste Management finance team. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and support the preparation of financial reports. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with accounting standards and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about accounting and eager to make a meaningful impact through meticulous financial management. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify asset, liability, and equity account accuracy Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections Prepare financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and other relevant documentation for internal review and external compliance Handle payroll processing and related tax filings in accordance with applicable regulations Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and assisting in financial planning efforts Skills Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation processes Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently using 10 key typing skills Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll taxes, sales taxes, or other regulatory filings Excellent attention to detail for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with team members
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
