Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant (Law Firm) Brown & Fortunato is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our national law firm. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger experience, and the ability to manage financial operations in a professional services environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements and timekeeper profit analysis . Manage general ledger accounting including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close . Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Perform bank reconciliations . Support internal controls , audit readiness, and compliance initiatives. Oversee bank reconciliations . Conduct financial analysis including annual budget and variance analysis. Oversee and assist with the billing process and supporting documentation. Support government reporting and compliance. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounting software. Work with administrative staff members while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 7+ years of experience in corporate accounting , public accounting , or professional services environments. Strong knowledge of debits and credits, general ledger accounting , and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas). Experience with accounting software preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively.
