As an accountant you will be managing and maintaining our organization's financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial advice to support decision-making. Here's a more detailed breakdown of an accountant's typical responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Accurately recording and classifying financial transactions. Maintaining the general ledger and other accounting records. Reconciling accounts, including accounts payable and receivable.
Financial Statement Preparation:
Preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyzing financial data to identify trends and potential issues. Conducting variance analysis to identify discrepancies.
Tax Compliance:
Preparing and filing tax returns for companies and individuals. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards. Providing tax planning and advice.
Auditing and Internal Controls:
Performing internal audits and financial risk assessments. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Recommending improvements to internal controls.
