Job Description
Sandalwood Management , a dynamic property management firm is seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Commercial Property Accountant to join our fast-growing team. This position, reporting to the Controller, will oversee the AR & GL functions for a portfolio of retail and office properties. This position is 100% in-office. In person attendance at the corporate office will be required daily. Applicants should reside within a commutable distance to our corporate office or relocate to reside within a commutable distance prior to the hire date. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Verify accuracy of lease data and accounting data entered in YARDI (property management software). Weekly review of accounts payable and monitoring of available cash. Perform monthly bank reconciliations. Post month-end close journal entries. Record and review monthly accrual entries. Review tenant ledgers to ensure accuracy of charges and receipts in accordance with lease. Prepare monthly financial statement packages. Ensure company adherence to policies and procedures for consistent processing. Provide insight into property performance for month end reviews. Perform periodic reviews of CAM, insurance and taxes billed to tenants. Prepare reconciliation calculations of these items annually.
