10076691  We are looking for a senior accountant on a contract basis.
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on cash accounting, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and be comfortable working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and record daily and monthly cash journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies. Perform bank reconciliations and investigate/resolution of reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain the general ledger and support the integrity of financial records. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyze account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies. Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations, as needed. Assist with specialized reconciliations and other accounting projects based on business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and ensure timely reporting. Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and account analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role. Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Experience performing bank reconciliations and cash accounting functions. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis. Experience with fixed assets is preferred, and industry-specific accounting experience is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
