Job Description

We are partnering with a high-growth organization in Austin to add a Senior Technical Accountant to their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working through complex accounting topics, building clear policy guidance, and supporting accurate financial reporting in a structured, compliance-focused environment. You will play a key role in evaluating non-routine transactions, advising leadership on accounting treatment, and helping ensure consistency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate complex and non-routine transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP, including areas such as revenue, leases, equity compensation, and development-related costs
  • Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and position papers to support conclusions, estimates, and key judgments
  • Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance
  • Monitor new and evolving accounting guidance and assess potential impact on business operations and financial reporting
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and technical accounting areas
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules for external reporting requirements
  • Analyze accounting implications of strategic transactions such as acquisitions or business combinations and provide guidance to stakeholders
  • Serve as a primary liaison for technical accounting matters during external audits, including preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation in support of a growing and evolving reporting environment
  • Identify accounting risks and provide practical recommendations to improve processes and mitigate exposure
