Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Beaumont, Texas. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely reporting, and providing insight into project and company performance. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, advanced spreadsheet skills, and the ability to work effectively in a construction-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure statements are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain clean and reliable financial data.
  • Monitor work-in-progress activity and evaluate project financial status using percentage-of-completion accounting methods.
  • Contribute to cash flow planning and develop margin analysis to support business decisions.
  • Record journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities across multiple accounting areas.
  • Maintain job cost records and review project-level financial information for accuracy and consistency.
  • Help strengthen internal controls by supporting established accounting procedures and reporting standards.
  • Create Excel-based schedules, summaries, and visual reports to communicate financial results clearly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management is required.
  • Prior experience in accounting within the construction industry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of work-in-progress reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and job cost tracking.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Strong Excel skills, including workbook creation, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and financial analysis functions.
  • Ability to produce organized financial reports, charts, and other data visualizations is a plus.
  • Experience with construction accounting systems or related financial software is preferred.
