Project Accountant LHH US Carrollton, TX Job Details $80,000 - $95,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Employee stock ownership plan Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Project Accountant | Project-Based Accounting Environment | Hybrid | Carrollton, TX LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading Engineering/construction/ Professional Services company in Carrollton, TX to hire a Project Accountant. The Project Accountant supports the monthly close and financial reporting process while overseeing the financial activity and reconciliations for assigned projects. This role assists with budgeting and forecasting, monitors project financial performance, and ensures accounting processes and reporting standards are executed accurately and consistently in alignment with company policies and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including researching and resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy of financial data. Monitor vendor and subcontractor invoices to ensure timely and accurate processing. Maintain and track compliance documentation for projects and vendors. Prepare and analyze reports related to payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing, and contract status. Calculate and process project commission accruals and payments. Prepare and post journal entries and accruals as part of the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met. Record monthly Percentage of Completion (POC) entries for active projects. Analyze financial variances, identify trends, and recommend cost control improvements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Support annual external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Develop and improve workflows, procedures, and internal controls for assigned responsibilities. Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required 3+ years overall accounting experience required Construction, Engineering, Consulting, Professional Services industry experience is preferred Ability to multitask in a work in a fast-paced environment
