Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant (Temporary Assignment) Location Irving, Texas | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
  • $45-$50 per hour (based on experience)
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • Temporary assignment through November

ASAP ROLE IMPACT
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting critical accounting operations during a high-impact period. This position ensures accuracy across lease accounting, inventory, and revenue streams while maintaining strong financial controls. Success in this role means delivering clean month-end closes, accurate reconciliations, and reliable financial reporting that leadership can trust. Responsibilities
  • Manage ASC 842 lease accounting, including accurate tracking and reporting of lease activity
  • Post and review rent activity to ensure proper recognition and compliance
  • Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate cost tracking and valuation
  • Perform store sales accounting and revenue reconciliations
  • Handle property tax accounting and related entries
  • Manage gift card program accounting and liability tracking
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
  • Lead and support month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Conduct detailed P&L reviews to identify variances and trends
  • Prepare and post accruals and adjusting journal entries
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure strict adherence to debits and credits and overall GAAP compliance Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of debits, credits, and GAAP principles Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
  • Background in retail, multi-location, or inventory-driven environments
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
