Summary:
We are seeking an Audit/Assurance Accountant to join our growing CPA firm. This role provides hands-on experience supporting audit, review, and compilation engagements for clients across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a strong foundation in public accounting while working closely with experienced team members.
Responsibilities:
Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements under the supervision of senior associates, managers, and partners. Perform assigned audit procedures, including testing account balances, transactions, and internal controls. Prepare and organize audit workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm and professional standards. Help analyze financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP. Identify discrepancies or unusual items and communicate findings to senior team members. Gain exposure to multiple industries and client environments while developing technical and professional skills. Participate in client communications as appropriate, including requesting information and clarifying documentation. Learn and stay informed on basic accounting principles, auditing standards, and firm methodologies. Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and maintain quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (or near completion). 2 years of experience in public accounting or a related accounting role preferred but not required. Basic understanding of GAAP and interest in auditing and assurance services. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting or audit software is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and work well in a team environment. Interest in pursuing CPA licensure preferred.
