Senior Accountant Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff to Senior Accountant to join the Aloha accounting team in Dallas, Texas. This role will support key accounting functions related to fuel operations and requires a strong understanding of industry-specific accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in the fuel or energy sector, with a background in fuel pricing and complex general ledger (GL) accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations Manage and analyze general ledger accounts, including but not limited to Construction in Progress (CIP), LIFO inventory, and exchange accounting Support fuel pricing accounting processes and ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and internal/external audit requests Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including operations and commercial teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5+ years of relevant accounting experience (level commensurate with experience) Prior experience in the fuel, energy, or commodities industry preferred Strong knowledge of GL accounting, including CIP, LIFO, and exchange transactions Experience with fuel pricing or cost accounting highly desirable Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and organizational skills
- This is a fully on-site position in the North Dallas area.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $46.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
