Job Description
Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a private equity-backed organization in Dallas, Texas, where the accounting team supports multiple entities in a high-growth setting. This role offers broad exposure to complex accounting matters, regular interaction with business leaders, and the chance to strengthen core processes as the company continues to expand. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to monthly close activities, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
Record and review journal entries to keep the general ledger complete, accurate, and aligned with reporting deadlines.
Lead key aspects of the monthly close process, helping ensure timely preparation of internal financial reporting across multiple entities.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, research unusual fluctuations, and follow through on corrective actions when issues are identified.
Monitor intercompany activity, prepare related reconciliations, and help maintain consistency in accounting treatment across the organization.
Partner with teams such as Operations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable to resolve accounting issues and improve information flow.
Prepare audit support materials, including schedules and documentation, to assist with financial statement and compliance requirements.
Evaluate existing accounting workflows, recommend stronger controls, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
Contribute to special projects tied to business expansion, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives affecting the accounting function. Requirements
Audit experience gained in public accounting or in a role with significant audit-focused responsibilities.
At least 2 years of accounting experience in an industry environment.
Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles in a multi-entity structure.
Experience managing financial data in a fast-paced or changing business environment.
Ability to investigate discrepancies, analyze account activity, and communicate findings clearly.
Background in private equity-backed, high-growth, or similarly complex organizations is highly valued.
