Primary Services is excited to announce the Gas Settlements Accountant role for a large, enterprise-scale organization in the utilities sector. This position supports a high-volume accounting function responsible for financial accuracy, operational reporting, and regulatory-driven reconciliation processes. The Gas Settlements Accountant will support month-end close, gross margin analysis, and settlement processes, and will partner with technical and financial stakeholders in a structured corporate environment. Responsibilities Perform monthly accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely month-end close results. Prepare and analyze U.S. gross margin reporting, including variance analysis of estimate versus actual performance. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across assigned accounts. Prepare, reconcile, and settle monthly LDC invoices and related billing activities. Maintain and reconcile monthly LDC statements and prepare volume balancing schedules. Support internal and external audit requests with timely documentation and analysis. Develop and maintain inventory roll forward schedules as required. Evaluate and support implementation of process and system improvements in coordination with IT and other stakeholders. Conduct research and provide accounting guidance related to complex financial transactions and reporting issues. Assist with special projects related to accounting process enhancement and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or corporate finance roles. Strong proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel capabilities. Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Familiarity with U.S. gross margin reporting and financial variance analysis. Exposure to wholesale or retail energy markets, particularly gas or utilities, is a plus. Experience supporting audit processes and responding to internal and external audit requests. Ability to interpret financial data and apply accounting principles to operational transactions. Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight reporting deadlines.
