We are a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization focused on delivering exceptional service and innovative financial solutions to our clients. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with 5-8 years of accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with financial transactions at scale. This role will play a key part in month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the accounting operations of a freight factoring company. Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries. Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Analyze variances and investigate unusual account activity. Support annual audits and tax reporting requirements. Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Freight Factoring Accounting Reconcile daily client funding transactions and settlements. Review accounts receivable aging and reserve account activity. Monitor client advances, fees, chargebacks, and collections. Reconcile lockbox, operating, and lending facility accounts. Record and reconcile factoring fee income and transaction fees. Assist in tracking client reserves and reserve releases. Review debtor payment activity and unapplied cash transactions. Assist with bad debt reserve calculations and write-off processes. Treasury & Cash Management Perform daily cash reconciliations. Monitor cash balances and funding requirements. Assist with wire transfers, ACH transactions, and banking activity. Support cash forecasting and liquidity management initiatives. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies. Assist with system implementations and automation projects. Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5-8 years of accounting experience. Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Enterprise. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP/accounting systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in freight factoring, commercial finance, banking, asset-based lending, or accounts receivable financing is a plus. Experience with treasury management and cash forecasting. Familiarity with factoring software platforms and lender reporting.
