Our client is seeking a Sr. SEC Reporting Analyst to join their newly founded SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting team. This is a role with a lot of growth potential. What You'll Be Responsible For SEC Reporting:
Support the preparation and filing of registration statements, periodic filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and Proxy statements), along with other required SEC reporting documents.
Supporting Documentation:
Develop and maintain detailed workpapers and financial statement tie-out binders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all public filings.
Technical Accounting Assistance:
Conduct research related to complex accounting matters and newly issued
FASB/SEC
guidance, while assisting in the preparation of technical accounting memos to support GAAP compliance.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements, including statements of cash flows, stockholders' equity, and related footnote disclosures.
XBRL Review:
Perform preliminary reviews and validation of XBRL-tagged data associated with SEC filings.
SOX & Internal Controls:
Partner with the SEC reporting team and external Big 4 Internal Audit consultants to help design, implement, and execute internal controls over financial reporting in support of SOX compliance.
Audit Support:
Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit procedures.
Financial Analysis:
Collaborate with FP&A and Investor Relations teams to assist with monthly and quarterly variance/flux analysis and support MD&A reporting requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with various departments to support the preparation and validation of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other public disclosures.
Qualifications We're Seeking Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA certification (or active progress toward obtaining one) and a Master's degree are strongly preferred.
Experience:
2-4 years of progressive accounting experience within SEC reporting at a fast-paced company or within public accounting, ideally with a Big 4 firm.
Accounting Knowledge:
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards. Experience with insurance statutory accounting and/or internal control frameworks is considered a plus.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills required; experience using Workiva is preferred. Familiarity with other SEC reporting platforms will also be considered. Attention to

Strong analytical capabilities with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a regulated reporting environment.
Communication Skills:
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Accounting, FP&A, and operational business teams.
Organization & Prioritization:
