Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lewisville, Texas. In this role, you will oversee various accounting functions for a portfolio of properties, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end close process for a portfolio of properties, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct and review reconciliations for both operating and escrow bank accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries, along with making necessary accounting adjustments.
- Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and implement solutions effectively.
- Generate and distribute financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports, for stakeholders.
- Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial analysis initiatives.
- Maintain accounting schedules for depreciation, amortization, taxes, insurance, and escrow.
- Provide documentation and support for audits, cost certifications, and tax filings.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare weekly reports for executive leadership review.
- Ensure timely processing of payments such as mortgages, utilities, payroll, and reimbursements. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
