Job Description

Title:
Real Estate Accounting Manager / Controller (Property & Development)
Salary:
$150K-$160K base + bonus

Key Responsibilities:
Review funding requests to investors and lenders; coordinate approvals for reserves and write-offs in accordance with governing agreements Ensure accounting records and financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP (including debt modifications, acquisitions/dispositions, and interest capitalization) Perform general ledger review and analysis; oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes Review and prepare Property/Development Management Fees and Construction Management Fees, ensuring proper calculation, invoicing, and recording Review monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules in partnership with Property/Project Managers and Accounting teams Research accounting guidance and draft position memos for new or complex transactions Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with established accounting policies Support Asset Management and Property Management with annual budgets and reconciliations between Argus models and budgets/forecasts
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) Strong background in real estate, development, or construction accounting Experience with complex transactions (debt, acquisitions/dispositions, interest capitalization) Advanced Excel skills; Argus experience a plus Detail-oriented with the ability to partner cross-functionally
