Accountant Location:
Nash, TX Job Summary Reliance Leadership Investments is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team in Nash, Texas. This position will provide comprehensive accounting and financial support for multiple business operations, including The Primary Commons, The Primary Court, The Primary Hotel, and Local Habit Coffee Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and multi-entity bookkeeping. This role is responsible for executing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and providing financial insight to support business growth. The role will work directly with the CEO, CFO, and external CPA to maintain accurate financial records and efficient accounting processes across all business units. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports. Partner with management to evaluate profitability, monitor key performance metrics, and improve financial performance. Assist leadership with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Monitor and report key performance indicators for hospitality, event venue, retail, and food service operations. Research and investigate accounting discrepancies, variances, and operational issues to identify root causes and recommend solutions. Develop and generate ad hoc financial and operational reports for management to support business decisions. Analyze expenses across all business units and identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings. Gather, organize, and interpret financial and operational data from multiple sources to answer business questions and support strategic initiatives. Accounting Operations Manage day-to-day accounting activities for The Primary Commons, The Primary Court, The Primary Hotel, and Local Habit Coffee Shop. Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations. Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable. Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation. Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Oversee cash management and bank reconciliations for multiple entities and operating accounts. Hospitality, Event Center & Retail Accounting Reconcile daily sales, deposits, and point-of-sale transactions. Monitor inventory-related accounting and cost-of-goods-sold reporting for food and beverage operations. Track event center revenue, client deposits, event billing, vendor payments, and contract-related financial activity. Support hotel accounting functions, including occupancy reporting, guest revenue reconciliation, room revenue analysis, and operational expense tracking. Ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting across all business units. Payroll & Compliance Process payroll and prepare payroll tax reports. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and applicable governmental regulations. Work closely with the CFO and CPA to assist with tax preparation, audits, and financial reviews. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial information. Process Improvement Continuously evaluate and improve accounting systems, controls, and reporting processes. Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting software, financial reporting tools, and operational systems. Support management with special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Experience Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in public accounting, corporate accounting, hospitality, retail, property management, or multi-entity environments. Experience managing accounting functions across multiple business operations is strongly preferred. Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience with hospitality, event venue, retail, or food service accounting is a plus. Proficiency with QuickBooks, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial reporting software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Naturally curious with a passion for problem-solving and investigating financial data. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, explain variances, and make data-driven recommendations. Ability to independently research issues, gather information, and develop practical solutions. Advanced reporting and data analysis skills with exceptional attention to detail.
