Our client in Frisco is looking for a Purchasing Project Accountant who will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting. They will monitor project expenses, prepare invoices, and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial records. The role involves collaborating with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to analyze costs, forecast budgets, and support decision-making. Duties /Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee accounting activities for constructions and other projects, including job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Review and reconcile project-related invoices, purchase orders, subcontractor payments, and change orders
- Prepare project cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to support management decision-making
- Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers, finance, and procurement teams to ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenue recognition
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements for construction projects
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for projects and overall construction operations
- Support audits by providing project documentation, financial records, and detailed cost analyses
- Implement and maintain accounting controls, processes, and best practices specific to construction accounting
