Job Description
The Accountant I has responsibilities that include but are not limited to, performing complex budget and accounting work. This position has considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. This is a full-time position that reports to LSCPA's Finance Department. Perform daily budget entries as advised by the Executive Director Maintain position control for budget in Banner Update Salary Planner for budget changes as advised by the Executive Director Perform daily accounting tasks related to budget included EPAFs, activating positions in Banner, and assisting the ED with campus customers with budget requests Assist in the yearly budget process under the leadership of the Executive Director Assist in the bi-ennial Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR) process under the leadership of the Executive Director Record jounral entries as needed Reconcile quarterly USAS with the Legislative Budget Board's (LBB) Accounting System (ABEST) Reconcile state cost centers and perform other reconciliations as needed Data entry of State entries into USAS (Unitform Statewide Accounting System) Reconcile local bank accounts and perform other reconciliations as needed Comply with campus policies and procedures Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Two (2) to four (4) years' experience on jobs leading this, or similar jobsPhysical Requirements:
This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.Similar jobs in Port Arthur, TX
