STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Job Description:

Staff Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including, but not limited to, the preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations for assets, liabilities, equity accounts and payroll. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual trial balance and financial statements and supporting schedules Preparation of variance analysis reports commenting on actual vs budget variances Other accounting related tasks as may be requested

Required Experience and Traits:

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience Previous experience working in the Senior Living industry desired Previous experience working with Sage Intact desired Previous experience working in a Public Company environment is desired Self-starter, ability to identify issues and propose solutions that are discussed with the Controller Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to work with and competent knowledge working with Excel spreadsheets Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required Strong analytical, quantitative and social skills Be detail oriented and flexible

Physical Demands:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external individuals. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Line of Authority:

The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller.
