Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in West Valley City, Utah. This position is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key accounting functions within a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on inventory accounting, fixed asset management, cost analysis, and financial reporting, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries and account reconciliations, focusing on areas such as inventory, cost of goods sold, fixed assets, and labor overhead.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting processes, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, disposals, and roll-forward analyses.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger and ensure compliance with established capitalization policies.
  • Support inventory accounting procedures, including standard costing methods and valuation processes.
  • Conduct analysis of material, labor, and overhead variances, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist in managing inventory reserves and performing excess and obsolete inventory assessments.
  • Reconcile inventory subledger accounts to ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Participate in monthly and annual financial close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Prepare internal financial reports and accompanying schedules to support decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and perform variance analysis to evaluate financial performance.
