This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge accounting software, engage in detailed financial analysis, and collaborate with clients to make a huge difference to small companies. This job will be paid hourly to ensure fair compensation. Overtime will be paid at time and a half. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and deadlines Execute tax planning strategies Conduct detailed research on securities law, regulatory reporting, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to inform accurate financial reporting. Support client accounting functions including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable processing, and financial statement preparation. Analyze financial data using various accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial tools to ensure accuracy in bookkeeping and account analysis. Collaborate on mergers & acquisitions activities by performing due diligence, asset management assessments, and financial report interpretation. Maintain expertise in wills, trusts & estate law as it pertains to tax implications for high-net-worth clients or organizational assets. Contribute to financial report writing and interpretation for management review and regulatory compliance. Skills Extensive experience in tax accounting with a strong understanding of tax concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and regulatory reporting standards. Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software platforms. Strong analysis skills for financial statement interpretation, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. Ability to perform detailed account analysis while demonstrating excellent attention to detail in balance sheet reconciliation and asset management tasks. Excellent communication skills for clear financial report writing and presentation of complex concepts to diverse audiences. Demonstrated understanding of payroll processing, accounts payable management, and asset management principles.
